Benefits of Using Steel Scaffolding

There are a number of different materials that can be used to provide safe and secure scaffolding as a temporary support during construction or maintenance work; the main ones being timber, steel and aluminium.

Though each has its own benefits for scaffolding companies, we have opted to use steel for all of our scaffolding services as part of our HAKI system scaffold for all of the reasons below.

The strength of steel scaffolding

Steel is by far one of the strongest and sturdiest materials for scaffolding, providing a safe and steady platform for work.

It can withstand the load and pressure that scaffolding must undergo with the weight of workers and equipment as well as the forces it may feel from strong winds.

It stands firm and robust against it all which means that there is less worry about scaffolding falling apart or becoming loose and putting workers or passers-by in danger.

Steel scaffolding is durable

Steel is highly durable and can hold out against tough weather including heavy rain, storms and snow.

Therefore, it has a longer lifespan than most other materials and can last many years, and jobs, without damage making it a more sustainable choice of scaffolding material.

Easy to assemble and dismantle

When compared to other materials, steel is easier to assemble and takes less time – no matter the height of scaffolding required.

This enables scaffolding to be erected at a much faster rate which, in turn, enables construction work to start sooner.

When the job is done, the scaffolding can be dismantled a lot faster too which guarantees overall efficiency for the construction project.

Steel is great for bigger jobs

Unlike timber, steel scaffolding can be built to great heights which means that it enables us to carry out work for bigger construction projects without any limitations.

It can also be used for single and double scaffolds depending on the weight of your construction materials.

Steel is more environmentally friendly

One of the less obvious advantages of using steel scaffolding is that it is an environmentally friendly material, especially thanks to its sustainability.

Whereas, timber is a direct result of deforestation, the steel industry uses primary energy sparingly, saves non-renewable sources and limits the waste stream.

We are proud to say that we are a steel using scaffolding company as it enables us to deliver efficient, environmentally-friendly and, most importantly, safe
